I ended up booking direct with Alamo car rental. I like Alamo because as a member of their free Insiders club I got a small discount (maybe 5%) off the price, but more importantly I can check in online and avoid the airport check in desk by simply going to the lot and picking out my car. So for me I don't see a great advantage to Priceline anymore.

Priceline sounds good, but what if you get someone besides Alamo? The others all require a CC with at least 200-300 on it to hold against your rental, while Alamo doesn't." With a priceline contract, the cc hold they are allowed to do is different than what the rental company usually asks for. It should be since you prepaid.
I use Priceline quite often for my flight tickets, hotel bookings and car rentals. I used Priceline for car rental in Fajardo. I never used the booking since we found a better solution for car rental. However, I as charged $44 by Priceline for Collision Damage. I dont understand why Priceline would charge me for a service they never provided.
A week before we travelled, the Alamo website had 'last minute deals' and the rental was $100 less - but we lost the free 2nd driver that comes with booking as a Costco member ($10 day) For the minivan we made a 'name your own price' offer on Priceline which was accepted by Alamo. 9 day rental was $200 less than other companies.
Answer 1 of 19: I have a car reserved through Costco with Alamo. I just went online and found the same car through Priceline with Alamo for $60 cheaper. Anyone have experience dealing with not going through direct with Alamo?
