1. Re: Costco vs chedraui. Mar 24, 2024, 9:42 AM. Just like in the the US, Costco is good for purchasing items in bulk, but might be more than what's necessary for just a few days of groceries. Chedraui Selecto is better than a standard Chedraui with a better selection of imported goods and a better produce selection.
Both Walmart and Costco have ATMs. We feel that MEGA is the best bet for prices and usable quantities for those staying for a week or two. Mexico Costco and MEGA are owned by the same Mexican corporation. Please do not use a $100 bill to by a hotdog at Costco to get pesos. The food court does not have change for a $100 bill.
Re: Costco. May 5, 2024, 4:30 PM. The Costco here is great. The local grocery stores have limited frozen foods, while Costco. Has aisles of it. They have living lettuce, great asparagus and produce. Some products are tailored for Cabo, like a 4 pack of ultra pasteurized whole milk.
For exmple a Costco hot dog/drink is $1.50 in the US and $1.80 in Cabo. However some items are less expensive than the US. Costco is much less expensive than MEGA or CCC. But you do have the issue of larger sizes at Costco. We do about 50% of our shopping at Costco, 40% at Mega, and 10% at other stores.
