   I ended up with really good rates from Hertz with my AAA membership. like 1/3 or 1/5 of the Costco prices. Even when I searched today, Hertz's rate is still better than Priceline. You can also sign up for Hertz Gold Plus for free and see the discounted price. I am not sure about your travel time and if it will give you a good price.

   The offers where the company was not named seemed cheap, but I could see by reading the details that the unnamed rental car company was off the airport property and that generally includes only the shoddiest off the shoddy rental car companies. I would consider Priceline for a big discount, but not just to save a few bucks.

   -Hawaiian airlines discount with Avis: K816401 (This one tends to be the cheapest)-Island air discount with Budget: U030087-Other rental car options include Discount hawaii car rental, Adventures rent-a-jeep (used cheap 4x4s), Costco, Priceline and Expedia. I'm sure there are lots more options, but found these to be the best.
