I googled the expedia customer support centre contact (UK) and got a number which I called, as there was a queue the bot offered to call me back, which they did, I had to wait but got through to very helpful guy who put me through to the refund sections and after half an hour they had the details and confirmed we would get a full refund.
Expedia never notified us of that. As such we had to book a new flight on a different airline at a much higher price. I have made 7 calls to Expedia talked to 7 customer service agents and 4 supervisors. I have been disconnected 3 times after waiting on line for up to 40 minutes. ON May 21, I was promised an answer within 24-48 hours.

It took me 5 times to contact but at a point, I received an email from expedia.com customer service that they needed more details. So I explained my whole case and after 3 days I received a new open ticket number.
In the subject line use the numbers/ letters of your itinerary followed by "Inquiry#1" then follow that up next day with the same thing followed by Inquiry#2, etc. , etc. . In the body of the e-mail, again start by referencing the itinerary number followed by names, followed by your specific requests.
And, as noted, booking two flights separately when timing of the two flights is critical is always risky. I also quickly found a customer service # for Expedia "Please call us at 1-877-626-7814." There is a "contact us" tab but first you have to click on "support," which is on their main page.
Answer 1 of 6: I booked a trip in December for my daughter and her fiancée, who live in the UK, to fly to Denver on June 29th through Expedia. On June 24th, my daughter was diagnosed with cancer and advised to start a drug and radiation therapy immediately.
