The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) is an agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that manages many parking operations for Philadelphia. And the Mummers Parade today also means a lot of streets are closed. All of this severely reduces the amount of available parking in an area where it's tough to get a spot on a normal basis.

The Philadelphia parking authority garage on 2nd between chestnut and walnut has a number of spots for oversize vehicles on the ground floor. The entrance to the ground floor is before the main garage entrance.

For all day parking, you will need a garage. My favorite in that area is the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) self-park garage on 2nd Street between Chestnut and Walnut (2nd & Sansom, officially). The entrance is on the left as you drive down 2nd Street. The ramp spirals up to the parking levels.
Entrances to the garage are available on both 5th and 6th Streets, between Market and Arch Streets. The GPS address for the AutoPark at Independence Mall is 41 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. There is also an AutoPark at Olde City garage (fee applies) on 2nd Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets. over a year ago.
