1. Re: Expedia.com Car Rental Question. I suggest you reserve the rental directly from the rental car company rather than Expedia. You can use Expedia or other third party sites to compare rates, but then go directly to the rental car company's website to reserve. It's better not to get a third party involved, especially if there are any issues.
Re: Rent a car from Expedia or direct from Avis etc ? Always book direct. Especially with cars in such short supply. If you show up at the Hertz counter with a Hertz reservation you will get better help if there is a problem, than if you book through a third party and have to track down Expedia in a hurry.
Rental car companies that accept North American issued Credit Card coverage do NOT accept any other ‘third party’ coverage such as trip insurance.
