If you can,get your car at the airport-the shuttles are a pain. Alamo and National(same company) have good prices and you can check in on the computer in advance and just pick your car up,no waiting at the counter. It's a good idea to join the loyalty program of whatever car rental company you choose too.
Alamo seem to us to be the slowest and have the longest queues. In the past we have stood in line for up to an hour. They never seem to have more than one or two people serving. Very frustrating. It also will depend on how many international flights have landed when you get to the counter.
