Can buy a Chinese SIM card in any larger branch of China Mobile, China Unicom or China Telecom. In cities outside Beijing and Shanghai it could be difficult to buy a Chinese SIM card though as they probably won’t speak English.
Just bought Unicom sim with 3G A plan. I can easily call other chinese mobiles and send sms abroad as they are in my phonebook (i.e. for chinese mobile 1860808888 and for sms to russia +7 916 9161234) but can't make calls to russia (in Unicom office they advice me to call 17911+phone number).

There was no standard trunk prefix like '0' – only the area code and phone number were dialed when calling from one area code to another. Thus the Kowloon number xxx-xxx would have been dialed as follows: xxx-xxx – from within Kowloon; 3 xxx-xxx – from Hong Kong Island or New Territories +852 3 xxx-xxx – from the rest of the world
