Google Map France can also be downloaded for offline use. You just won't get live traffic. Map use doesn't consume a ton of data anyway. I have an old but still kicking Garmin as well. I still use it when I drive in foreign countries. I then use Google Map as a back-up, primarily for searches.

Assume you're aware of ZTL issues, need for an IDP, getting to Via Palagio degli Spini, etc. Google maps is unreliable. Use viamichelin for route planning, get their smartphone app. Report inappropriate content. NapOrsoCapo71.

Re: Driving Directions MD to Maine - avoid New York traffic. 17 years ago. The best solution to avoid traffic around Boston to/from Maine- Cape Cod, is to make the wide swing via I-495. It also depends very much on when you make that leg. If at all possible, avoid trying to get on/off the Cape Friday-Monday AM.
