   The offers where the company was not named seemed cheap, but I could see by reading the details that the unnamed rental car company was off the airport property and that generally includes only the shoddiest off the shoddy rental car companies. I would consider Priceline for a big discount, but not just to save a few bucks.

However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually. I’ve learned a lesson though. Just wondering if anyone used a bidding site like priceline.com recently for a car rental in Phoenix and what their winning bid was. Looking for a 6 day rental at the end of Sept and the "retail" prices for a mid-SUV are in the $50+/day range. Which seem high to me.
