I always carry a spare lens case (with a small amount of fluid) in my eyeglass case which is normally in my personal item (a small backpack). TSA has never given it a second look. I also carry a larger container of rinse and that goes in the 3-1-1 bag. -JimG.

If you carry more than 3 ounces you are supposed to place it in a bin separate from your 1 quart bag and tell the screener, but I've carried a 4 ounce bottle on dozens of flights and have ...
