I used to get the insurance and then I called my personal car insurance company a number of years ago. I now have a rider on it that also covers a rental car for personal use. I think I pay $4 / year for it. Before you go you should get a letter from your insurance company to show to the rental agent to prove you are covered.

7 years ago. "Most car rental at Orlando airport have bad reviews". Not true, although every rental company has at least one or two disgruntled customers. Avis, Hertz and Alamo have good reputations. I have used Thrifty with no problems. However, you MUST join and use the company's loyalty program.

Pricing up car hire from MCO for next summer, I found the best deal to be through Costco and also the prices going with Hertz are much lower than going with one of their other suppliers. I am normally firmly in the "if a deal looks to good to be true it probably is" camp but Costco and Hertz are, generally speaking, reputable companies.
