For people arriving at Kahului Port there are two car rentals with in walking distance. Maui Eco Car Rental is the closest to the cruise ship pier. They are "walking distance to the cruise ship harbor". Would be worth a phone call to see if you can park the car back on their property overnight or any suggestions they have . 808-873-6121.
1. Re: renting a car for 2 days while on an overnight cruise Maui. Unfortunately, your only option is to go pay for parking at the airport. There used to be a "deal" with a hotel nearby, for some parking places-but no more. Try to hook up with others renting cars so you can split the cost of taxis to and from.

We have enjoyed the NCL inter island cruise twice . Most ports have easier car rental pick up or a hop on hop off area tour available and the cruise ship has tours .
All WOM cars are 4 door automatics with AC - $180/ week + 4% tax and a $3.00 per day Rental = total of $208.49. Contact them at word@maui.net. Also WOM will pick you up and take you to their facility - if your arrival time is during their office hours, 8 to 5 every day.
The rental agencies bring the cars to the port. And I have read about others parking the car at the port as well, but not sure about this. May be worth using the search engine at the bottom of this page.
