The castle is a stunning sight. I do understand the concern over stairs; they are scary. Only you can decide if it is worth stopping to have close up look at the outside of the castle, or if you wish to make an attempt at entering the keep with stone stairs, but not the ladder-like stairs inside as one climbs the thru the castle.
