Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides interactive panoramas from positions along many streets in the world. Google maps gps navigates quite nicely on my phone when I've used it from time to time. I'd highly recommend getting a paper map. UK Road atlases are cheap to buy, and nothing gives a bit of perspective over where you are than a proper map. Plus you can navigate when your Google maps isn't working for some reason.
