United bumped my daughter from a Thanksgiving week flight due to overbooking and promised to mail a refund check to me (the purchaser). The first week of December they told her it was in the mail. One month later, it's still not here. I went online to the refund page but when I put in her ticket number it came up "not found."
Download the United Airlines app onto your smart phone. Check-in on your flight. The app will ask if you wish to "replace passport". Select "replace". Take a photo of the passport to include photo and written information. The cell phone camera will automatically take the photo if you have it lined up correctly.

You got lucky - I never understand the apparent difficulty some people seem to have in booking the flights with the correct name. Have the passport at your side as you enter the names. Report inappropriate content.
