   We reserved and paid for a 4x4 vehicle from Budget at SJO 8 weeks prior to our vacation. When we arrived, Budget did not have ANY vehicle available. Fortunately, we had reserved a room in San Jose for the night before starting our adventure across the country so it was not a big deal when we were asked to wait until the next day.

We made a reservation at Budget Car rental at the San Jose airport a couple weeks back. However, recently while reading the review comments online, I noticed several negative comments and experiences.

We needed a vehicle to fit 2 adults and our 4 older (taller) teens and luggage. We rented through VAMOS RENT-A-CAR with pick-up/drop-off at the San Jose airport.

Their description of insurance is a little cryptic if you don’t realize that basic 3rd party liability insurance is absolutely required in addition to the rental car cost.

   Our friends rented a Budget Car in San Jose last week. They drove about 5 miles and were approached by another car who flagged them down and pointed out a flat tire. Indeed the tire was flat and a male driver and a 30 something well dressed woman got out of the car and offered to help.
