Check out the hotel reviews in TripAdvisor and use Booking.com etc. If you can try to book with national chains eg. Super 8, Best Western, Holiday Inn to get discounts and free nights if you have a hotel card and stay in a chain multiple times.

THE COUPON BOOK IS AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 1st - for the next year- buy it early and make reservations early- especially to any Princess Lodge anywhere in the state or Pike's Hotel / river lodge in Fairbanks - they fill up fast with cruise people.
