The Central Park Carousel, officially the Michael Friedsam Memorial Carousel, [1] is a vintage wood-carved carousel located in Central Park in Manhattan, New York City, at the southern end of the park, near East 65th Street. It is the fourth carousel on the site where it is located.
Biography. Stephen Benson was born on January 2, 1954, in Sacramento, California. As the grandson of former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and former LDS Church president Ezra Taft Benson, he attended Brigham Young University, from which he graduated cum laude, and became the cartoonist for the Arizona Republic in 1980. Originally designed to show technological progress over the 20th century- all it does now is display the evolution of sexism over that same time period. The worst part is it is long and you can't get off. Painful experience to have to sit through. Don't make the same mistake. Disney should be embarrassed by this ride.
All the singing in Carousel is phenomenal. The male lead has a powerhouse voice and Renee Fleming’s voice is, of course, world renown. All the cast were strong, wonderful singers. There is a LOT of dancing in this show and you’ll recognize most of the songs. There’s nothing like a Rogers and Hammerstein musical!
