Re: Calling bank 1-800 number. 5 years ago. You dial +1800-etc on a mobile phone and pay full rate. To call with your phone + local SIM, using one of the discounted access codes (AIS's 003 as an example) is simply 0031800-etc. Forget the 011 stuff you use in Canada, this is Thailand.

As above, many phones are listed in the landlord's name, and many people don't even have a landline phone, but rely on their cells, which have no listing.

The caveat is that your phone must support 3G 850 MHz (all iPhones and iPads support this). Just last month, Truemove H added 2100 MHz spectrum with 4G LTE coverage in Bangkok metro area. I would recommend this operator. The 3G coverage is the best among all operators. Edited: 11 years ago.
