Even the Hertz "guaranteed" rentals are not really guaranteed, if you drill down into the fine print on the T&Cs - best they will do is try really, really hard.

   I found one at Hertz. Hertz actually gives you the option to "reserve this exact model" with the Mustang Coupe and a number of other cars. I was tempted to go for the GT but chose the V6 to keep the cost down. It turned out to be much cheaper than the convertible option for a weeks rental. Report inappropriate content.

SWT ~ I think US residents are charged a one way drop fee or a higher fee to pick up a car in one California city and to drop it in another. Most of the foreign renters don't pay the drop fee between the big cities.
