Technology is such that direct links from rental companies are imbedded in OTA, airline & other rental booking channels so you don’t book a rental car when a location is closed.
Join a loyalty rewards program with a car rental company so you can earn points to use towards perks. Joining is typically free-of-charge. Look for Burbank car rental locations outside the airport as prices usually include a kiosk fee at the airport. Consider taking a taxi or rideshare from the airport to an offsite location.

While they have numerous negative reviews we did not have any problems. Granted their cars are not new. With tax in we paid $76 for the 4 days which I think was very good.

Answer 1 of 5: I've discovered that some of the secondary rental car companies charge much less than the were-known brands. I found one rental company who is willing to let an economy car go for $19 while the better known brands are charging $40+.
The only "issue" at Burbank airport is the airport fees including a $30 per week "facility fee".
