When I got to the rental counter after an hour standing in line, the agent could not find any reservation for me.

However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually. I’ve learned a lesson though. "right now I have a alamo car booked through them for 5 days at $137 on a midsize. Priceline sounds good, but what if you get someone besides Alamo? The others all require a CC with at least 200-300 on it to hold against your rental, while Alamo doesn't."
Finally at $14 they took it. I got a mid-sized car (monte carlo SS) for what ended up being about $30 bucks less than it would have cost me using the coupons from my entertainment book. Just know this, all the usually taxes apply and they do charge a fee ( paid 41.25 in taxes and fees). I think the fee i paid priceline was in the neighborhood ...
