When I got to the rental counter after an hour standing in line, the agent could not find any reservation for me.

11 years ago. I've used priceline ften for cars and hotels. Renting an SUV for a winter trip I decided to add their collision damage waiver insurance at $11 a day. I figured since I was going to snowy, perhaps icy areas that would be smart. Being on the cautious side, I read the fine print on the insurance and saw that it does not cover 3 wheel ...
You can also google in car rental coupon codes. Recently I was submitting prices almost daily on priceline, & they weren't accepting my offer. I found a coupon code online that I submitted thru a national car rental chain & got a lower price than the offer priceline refused! I also had the option of changing my reservation (or canceling).
I called Priceline and they admitted that the prepayment $261 is only for reservations fee not for car rental. The thrifty car rental said the prepayment not go to their pocket. That’s why I think Priceline website is misleading you. 142. Re: BEWARE - Do NOT book a car rental through Priceline.com.
