6. Re: Pacific Highway 1 - Google maps. 5 years ago. You can easily add waypoints to force Google maps to take the route you want, although you can only add so many, (ten I believe). Anyway you can type in the city or you can do a map search so you just put the X on Highway one and hit save.

As long as you are staying in California cities, that should work. If you are going outside the cities, especially anywhere rural not near a freeway, then download offline maps in advance for those areas to Google Maps, so you will still have map data on your screen even if your phone can't reach the network. Unfortunately, no. I had this exact same issue with my recent visit to Chile, and the workaround was to do a printout of my planned itinerary (plus a separate list of priority destinations in Word), and then I had to request directions to specific destinations from the Google Maps app as needed.
