5. Re: Toll charge payment for rental car. From my experience, Hertz takes around a week to process the toll charges, which are then compiled and charged to the same card you used for the rental. The toll tag is included in the rental rate, so the additional charge is just for the actual toll charges accrued + 25% VAT.
The bill needed paying so I went on line and keyed in the Plate Pass web site. Entered my Hertz rental agreement number and proceeded to pay the $19.50 by my Visa card, here comes the "con", right at the end of the process the dollar sign changed to a pound sign - I was about to be charged £19.50 not $19.50.

What I don’t like about Hertz, they charge you each and every day of the rental, even if you never go through another toll. The max is $24 or so, but it’s just flat out wrong.

The best advise was to call Thrifty directly and confirm the situation regarding toll collection. I called and found that regarding the M50 toll, the rental car will register the 3 Euro 10 Pence and charge it to your account. #2. 1. Re: Toll Road Payment. My understanding is that the congestion tax in Gothenburg (and Stockholm) are always sent to the car owner and cannot be paid by you. Which probably means a hefty fee from the rental company. If you rent a car in Sweden, Hertz states that is often included but you need to check when you book your car.
The rental car companies do not provide renters with a SunPass, SunPass mini, or E-Pass toll transponder.
