This way, you can avoid any unnecessary ugly surprises when you show up at the agency in Costa Rica. Report inappropriate content.

I paid the deposit and I supposed to pay the remaining $146 US to Avis Car Rental in Costa Rica. When I arrive at Avis, the person at the desk refused to charge me the balance of $146 based on my contract. He insisted to have two blank signed credit card slips with no figures as deposit. He said that was standard procedure in Costa Rica.
After a significant amount of research and talking directly to some of the companies, we went with SIXT from LIR. We rented a 4x4 and although not completely necessary it was definitely worth it when exploring some areas. This was also by far the best car rental experience we have had anywhere in the World.
