You can call anyone in your contact list, as well as text, send pictures etc for free. You can also buy minutes from them so you can talk to anyone in the US for something like .01 per minute.
Mar 2, 2024, 8:45 AM. I’m in Italy now for 11+ weeks; I’m also an Xfinity mobile customer (great plan for the US!) and I’m doing exactly what Joe T describes: an eSIM for data, and WiFi, FaceTime and WhatsApp for phone calls. Way less expensive than the Xfinity global plan option of $10/day.

Re: Straight Talk overseas. 10 years ago. hi. to get internet access you only need to hook up to wifi. there are a lot of free wifi hotspots so easy to find one and hotels all have them these days. if you have a smartphone you turn it to airplane mode so it will not charge you for roaming.
