My quote for 16 days compact from Costco is $200 more than Discount Hawaii car rental. Even renting direct is cheaper than Costco. Yet Costco seems to be so popular here.

Find member services and car rentals will be there. You can't get rental car discounts through Costco in Canada unless you have an executive membership.
While there is no age limit to rent a car through the Costco program, customers under the age of 25 will pay an underage driver fee that can vary and that could offset the Costco member discount ...
However I decided to check Avis direct, and it is literally HALF the price for the same dates (early summer, 12 nights ). The price is half the cost of Avis through Costco, and $220 less than the cheapest option (Budget) through Costco for our dates. Avis has a lot of coupons that can apply right now, they are available on the website too.
Re: Alamo car rental.vs. Costco prices. 18 years ago. I also went to Costco.com and got a good rate through them. We just needed the car for one day and it was $24.94 for a full-size car. With taxes, it came out to $31.48.
