Last time I rented from Hertz one of the workers blamed me for a mistake that was obviously theirs. Enterprise by comparison was a first class operation.

There is one shuttle bus from the airport that takes everyone to the same facility. Just use one of the major companies and you will be fine; Avis, Hertz, Dollar, National, Budget, Thrifty, Alamo.
“ Downtown “ is a specific area of Las Vegas. It’s about 6 miles from The Flamingo. The Flamingo is on The Strip. A 4 mile length of Las Vegas Boulevard where all the big resorts are located. If you’re comparing airport rental prices with options closer to your hotel you’d want to search “ Las Vegas Strip “ car rental locations.
The best rate we found was the Enterprise at the Westin (block & half behind Bally's) and it was a perfect experience but if best price isn't the main concern & you want closer, we also had a good experience a few years ago at whatever rental company is in mirage.
